Gainesville, Fla. – Alachua County Library District added 100 more WiFi2Go mobile hotspots for check out on Monday, Aug. 23 thanks to another donation from the Alachua County Library District Foundation.The Library District launched the WiFi2Go collection in April 2021 with 100 hotspots funded by a $36,000 donation from the Foundation. Alachua County library cardholders can check out a hotspot for seven days and connect up to five devices to the internet at once with no fees or data limits.

Gainesville, Fla. – Check out new STEM Kits for children at any Alachua County Library Branch to spark discoveries in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.Fifteen kits are available for check out starting Monday, Aug. 16. Each kit includes an interactive toy, book, and DVD on a STEM theme curated for children ages 3 through fifth graders.

All branches will resume their current schedules on Tuesday, July 6.Book drops and online services at www.aclib.us will be available during all closings. Children and caregivers can read, laugh, and sing at outdoor story times lead by library staff at Story Time on the Green four days a week across Alachua County starting June 29 through Oct. 2. Library staff will read tales and share activities perfect for infants through 5-year-olds at library green spaces and parks. Parents and families can bring blankets and chairs to spread out. Story Time on the Green will be held at 10 a.m., weather permitting, as follows:
