Tax season is here and the Library District and our partner organizations are here to help you file your 2024 taxes. Taxpayers can begin filing 2024 tax returns in early 2025.
The deadline to file your 2024 Tax Return is Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

Tax Assistance at the Library
AARP Tax-Aide Alachua County will provide free tax preparation services starting on Jan. 27, 2025, available through April 15, 2025. Individuals are allowed help with one tax return per one-hour session. Sessions are by appointment only, but walk-ins can be accepted if time permits. Due to the popularity of this service, appointments may not be available on the same day as requested.

Walk-in assistance will be provided on Saturdays at the following locations on the specified dates. All walk-in service is first-come, first-served. All walk-ins must arrive no later than one-hour before closing and will be seen only as time permits.

- United Way VITA - Appointments Recommended
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers FREE tax help to taxpayers who need assistance. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified taxpayers.
Contact 211 for an appointment to have an IRS-certified volunteer prepare and file your taxes at one of our VITA sites. Simply dial 2-1-1 or (352) 332-4636 to make an appointment.
