Strawberry Shortcake originated as a greeting card character in the 1970s published by American Greetings. Her popularity grew from the original cards and she was turned into a doll by Kenner before her first story was released in 1980.

Throughout the 1980s there were 6 Strawberry Shortcake TV Specials released. The first 2 specials were later released on DVD and can be found in our collection.

Strawberry Shortcake became a TV series for the first time in 2003 and had 22 episodes within 4 seasons that lasted through 2008 and included several movies.

The next iteration of her character in a show was 2010-2015 in Strawberry Shortcake's Berry Bitty Adventures. There were another 4 seasons, but this time there were 65 total episodes.

The current version of Strawberry Shortcake began in 2021 in Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City. There have been 3 seasons so far, and they have been released on YouTube and Netflix.
