[Why did you come to the library?]

I come to the library all the time for the programs, and to pick up books for my kids. They love us there, we’re real regulars.

[Where were you from 3:30-5?]

We were in the holiday program. I remember we were there the whole time because the de—because Miss Tricia let my Bayleigh take one last cookie “for the road” right about at 5.

[Did you leave after that?]

No, we went and looked at books until the police made us leave. My children love books, we’re always checking out new ones.

[Did you remember anything notable happening while you were in the library?]

Well, even though Miss Tricia let my Bayleigh take a cookie from the program, that children’s librarian got very nasty with her about eating it in the children’s area. It’s the children’s area! It’s already covered in germs and crumbs, what’s the harm of a single cookie? She made us put the cookie away and then it ruined the bottom of my purse.

[Did you notice anything unusual during the program?]

No. I had my hands full running around after my kids! [laughter]

[Did you have any issues with Miss Tricia or the other librarians?]

Miss Tricia is lovely, she’s the only one that’s nice to us. The other staff at the library can be very nasty. I’m sorry, but if I say it’s okay, Bayleigh should be able to take more than three stickers. She’s a very responsible girl, she’s never misused a sticker in her life. I swear they hate children. [Laughs] Isn’t that weird? Why become a librarian if you can’t handle a few stickers?
