Join library staff across Alachua County for outdoor holiday stories and songs at Story Time on the Green: Holiday Edition. The week of Dec. 10 to Dec. 15 library staff will share holiday tales and lead activities at library green spaces and local parks. The activities are perfect for infants through 5-year-olds. Join in jolly songs, fingerplays, and story boards to spark your child's imagination, communication, and reading skills.
Parents and families can bring blankets and chairs to spread out. Story Time on the Green: Holiday Edition will be held at 10:30 a.m., weather permitting, as follows:
- Saturday, Dec. 10
- Micanopy park by the fire station, corner of NE Cholokka Boulevard and NE Seventh Ave., with the Micanopy Branch team
- Tuesday, Dec. 13
- Cone Park Branch (outdoor program area), 2801 E. University Ave.
- Gainesville Possum Creek Park, 4009 NW 53rd Ave., with the Millhopper Branch team
- Newberry Lois Forte Park, 120 NW 260th St., with the Newberry Branch team
- Wednesday, Dec. 14
- Archer Branch (indoors), 13266 SW State Road 45
- Hawthorne park, 6000 SE 205 St., with the Hawthorne Branch team
- Headquarters Library (Courtyard), 401 E. University Ave.
- High Springs park pavilion near the playground at 19499 NW 238th St., with High Springs Branch team (new location)
- Thursday, Dec. 15
- Alachua Legacy Park Multipurpose Center playground, 15400 Peggy Rd., with the Alachua Branch team
- Gainesville Smokey Bear Park, 2300 NE 15th St., with the Library Partnership Branch team
- Gainesville moved to Tower Road Branch due to weather from Veterans Memorial Park playground area, 7400 SW 41st Place, with the Tower Road Branch team
