Alachua County Library District Governing Board Chair Charles Goston presented certificates to 10 graduates of the Alachua County Library District's Management Academy. The graduates completed a five-week management, supervision and development program. Alachua County Library District worked with the County's Human Resources Department Office of Organizational Development and Training to conduct this management training.
Library Director Shaney T. Livingston thanked retiring County Litigation Attorney Bill Harlan for his service to the Library District and presented him with a certificate of appreciation.
Library Director Livingston also announced two Florida Library (FLA) Association Awards received during the FLA Conference in early May: The Teen Creative Writing Contest received the Betty Davis Miller Youth Services - Teens award and the Conversational English program held at Tower Road Branch received the Maria Chavez-Hernandez “Libraries Change Peoples’ Lives” award.
