Elliot Page (who uses he/they pronouns) was born February 21, 1987 in Nova Scotia, Canada.  His first time on camera was at the age of 10 in a CBC television movie.  Page gained recognition in the late 2000s with their breakout role in Hard Candy (2005), for which he won the Austin Film Critics Association Award for Best Actress.  They also appeared as Kitty Pryde in two installments of the X-men franchise to wide success.  He won multiple Best Actress Awards for his role in Juno (2008).  Page was later cast in the film Inception (2010) to wide success, as well.

On February 14, 2014, Page (presenting female at the time) came out as gay during a speech at a Human Rights Campaign's conference.  On December 1, 2020, he came out as transgender on their social media accounts and revealed his new name, Elliot.  He received multiple shows of support from around the world.

Page appeared on the cover of the March 29/April 5, 2021 issue of Time, making him the first openly trans masculine person to do so. In the featured article, he stated, "Transgender people are so very real," and described themself as queer and nonbinary.  The cover shot was also taken by a trans photographer, Wynne Neilly.  Page posted the cover to his Instagram, writing: "With deep respect for those who came before me, gratitude for those who have supported me, and great concern for the generation of trans youth we must all protect, please join me and decry anti-trans legislation, hate, and discrimination in all its forms."
