[What is the GSA Network? Or: Genders & Sexualities Alliance Network.]
The GSA Network is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping students start Genders & Sexualities Alliances (also known as Gay Straight Alliances) to fight homophobia and transphobia in schools. Though its headquarters is based in Oakland, California, the organization is active nationwide.
In 2016, GSA Network changed its name from "Gay-Straight Alliance Network" to "Genders & Sexualities Alliance Network" in an effort to better reflect the diversity of identities in its programming.
Shortly after March of 2020, amid the growing COVID-19 crisis, the GSA Network created a Virtual GSAs in Action page on their website, offering supportive resources for students to move their school-based GSA groups to a virtual setting.
