In 2012, Lucasfilm designated Oct. 6 as Star Wars Reads Day with the intention of promoting the importance of reading to students by using Star Wars as a tool with which to engage them. Since then, Star Wars Reads has grown into a month-long celebration that encourages fans of all ages to read, with events hosted at schools, libraries, and bookstores nationwide.
Young Jedi are invited to join us every Tuesday in October, 3:30 p.m. at Headquarters Library for Jedi Academy, where we’ll explore a galaxy far, far away with crafts, stories, and activities that are out of this world. See our events calendar for more information.
If you’re ready to celebrate Star Wars Reads Month, there’s no need to travel to Coruscant to find stories from the Jedi Archives. Whether you’d like to hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise, or you’re interested in learning more about the High Republic era, your library has you covered.
