Mob Background 2

Mob Psycho 100 is a shounen supernatural manga series written and illustrated by ONE. It was originally a web manga series and was serialized on Shogakukan's Ura Sunday website from April 2012 to December 2017—and available on the MangaONE app since 2014. As of July 2018, the chapters have been compiled into 16 tankōbon volumes.

In addition to Mob Psycho 100, ONE is also well known for his other manga series One-Punch Man which he wrote and illustrated originally in 2009 as a webcomic. It went viral and was picked up for a digital remake illustrated by Yusuke Murata and published on Shueisha's Tonari no Young Jump website in 2012. ONE's self-published works are One-Punch Man (the 2009 original webcomic) and Monster of Earth (2013). He has worked with multiple publishers to release Angry Warriors (2012), Makai no Ossan (2012-2013), Cockroaches Buster (2015), Reigen (a 2018-2019 spin-off of Mob Psycho 100), and Versus (2022-present day).

Mob Psycho 100 hit the small screen with its anime debut on July 12, 2016. The series expanded to have three seasons with 12, 13, and 12 episodes respectively. Two Original Video Animations (OVAs) were created as well as a 12-episode live-action drama, three stage-play adaptations, and a drama CD.

The manga was listed as one of the "Most Wanted Manga" by comic book writers at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2016. It won the 62nd Shogakukan Manga Award in the shounen category in 2017 and was nominated for a Harvey Award in the Best Manga category in 2019.

Mob and Reigen

Shigeo Kageyama a.k.a. Mob
(Left)

Mob is a middle-school student with remarkable psychic powers and the series' protagonist. His powers require total emotional suppression to keep it from lashing out, causing Mob to appear extremely passive and emotionless. In actuality, Mob is an empathetic and reserved boy who has difficulty making friends—something he wants to change about himself.

Arataka Reigen
(Right)

Self-proclaimed "Greatest Psychic of the 21st Century" and owner of the Spirits and Such Consultation Office, Reigen is the series' deuteragonist and—occasionally questionable—mentor to Mob. While he has zero psychic abilities, his gift of gab and general composure helps him get out of tricky situations.

Mob Psycho 100 Volumes

**This list includes a brief summary of the events in each book. Here there be spoilers, so read the later summaries at your own risk.

What's his secret to busting ghosts while keeping prices low? Well, first, he's a fraud, and second, he pays the guy who's got the real psychic power—his student assistant Shigeo—less than minimum wage. Shigeo is an awkward but kind boy whose urge to help others and get along with them is bound up with the mental safety locks he's placed on his own emotions. Reigen knows he needs to exploit Shigeo to stay in business, yet for better or worse he's also his mentor and counselor. And he also knows whenever the normally repressed kid's emotions reach level 100, it may unleash more psychic energy than either of them can handle!
