Originating as Fête De La Musique in France in 1982, Make Music Day (also known as World Music Day) is an international celebration of music and music makers that is observed every year on June 21st

On Make Music Day, all people are encouraged to get out and make music whether that's singing your favorite tune or playing a well-loved instrument. Lots of countries around the world even sponsor free concerts as a way to expand access to music!

Here at the library we love music and all the fun movement that goes with it! We believe that few things are better in life than an impromptu song and dance party!

So gather your little ones, pick some tunes from the list below, and get your grove on as you celebrate Make Music Day all day long!
