January is National Soup Month and we're pretty sure most people love soup! Soup is tasty, warm, and perfect for just about any time of day.
Even when we're feeling sick, soup is our go-to comfort food. But did you know that soup really is good for you?
Various research and studies have shown that there are lots of health-benefits associated with eating a soup-full diet. Here are just a few:
- Soup can help you stay slim. Soup is filling without having lots of extra calories. That means you can eat more and gain less!
- Soup‐eaters have higher intakes of fiber, vitamin A, magnesium, iron and potassium.
- Soup-eaters are more likely to get in their daily servings of vegetables.
- Even soups that are higher in sodium (salt) also tend to be higher in potassium which helps the body process sodium.
