The History of Peanut Butter & Jelly: The beloved peanut butter and jelly sandwich has an interesting history. It’s believed that the combination became popular during World War II when American soldiers were provided with peanut butter, jelly, and bread as part of their rations. The ease of making this simple meal caught on quickly, and soon it became a favorite in households across America.
