Flower kits are now available at Waldo

What's new at Waldo? Flower kits!

The weather is starting to warm up in Florida now, and Waldo Branch has plenty of seeds available for your gardening needs.

In addition to a new assortment of seed varieties, we also have flower kits!  Each kit comes with five different kinds of flower seeds, picked at random, to get you started.

Some of the varieties included in our flower kits are:

  • bachelor’s button
  • cosmos
  • four o’clock
  • marigold
  • poppy
  • sunflower
  • tithonia
  • so many more!

The Waldo Branch allows patrons to check out up to five seed packets per person per visit.

Unsure what to plant in March?  University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) recommends the following:

  • beans (bush, lima, pole)
  • cantaloupes
  • carrots
  • corn
  • cucumbers
  • okra
  • onions (bunching)
  • peanuts
  • peas (English, southern)
  • radish
  • squashes
  • watermelon
