Welcome to our DIY Body Scrubs event! Are you looking to create something for yourself, a friend, or a significant other? All 3? No worries, we have 5 recipes to choose from and there is sure to be something for everyone. Most of the recipes below use sugar as the base but coffee grounds are another great option if you have those on hand. And don't forget, you'll need something pretty to put it in when you're done! The Dollar Store and Marshall's both have wonderful, afforadable options or you can always customize an empty plastic or glass container you have at home! But really, with such yummy-scented body scrubs inside, you can't go wrong! Just add a sweet note and you're good to go.

Let's get started! Our first recipe is "Warm Vanilla Sugar Body Scrub". For this one, you'll need:

2 cups light brown sugar                   1 vanilla bean, scraped

2 tsp vanilla                                       1 tbsp almond oil

Directions: Mix all ingredients in a bowl. If you want your scrub to have a stronger vanilla scent, mix the scraped vanilla bean into the sugar and let it sit over night before continuing. This mix will keep in a jar for up to 2 months.

Last but certainly not least is our "Cucumber Mint Sugar Scrub". For this light, fresh-scented body scrub you will need:

1/4 cucumber (unpeeled - about 4 slices)                 3/4 cup white sugar

8-10 drops peppermint essential oil                          2 tbsp coconut oil (softened)

Directions: Puree cucumber until all the skin is in tiny flecks. Add the sugar and coconut oil and blend until oil is fully absorbed. Stir in peppermint oil and store in a sealed container. This scrub is best stored in the refrigerator because of the fresh cucumber added. If it thickens up a bit, you can take it out a few minutes before using to allow it to warm and soften up.
