The Alachua County Library District is partnering with Gainesville Regional Utilities and Clay Electric Co-op to lend Kill-a-Watt meters to residents to help them measure energy usage from their home appliances. These hand-held meters can calculate the electrical usage of various appliances within the home, helping to identify electricity hogs so plans can be made to cut back on usage, thus saving electricity and money. You can check out a Kill-a-Watt meter for seven days from these libraries: Headquarters, Alachua, Archer, Hawthorne, High Springs, Millhopper, Newberry and Tower Road Branches.
Kill-a-Watt meters have been provided by our local utilities, Gainesville Regional Utilities and Clay Electric Co-op.
