National Violin Day, which falls on December 13, is a day of recognizing the cultural impact of the violin. The violin, also known as a fiddle in some instances, dates back to at least the 16th century. From Classical and Orchestral music, to R&B and Rock, the violin's versatility has allowed it to flourish all over the world in a wide variety of genres.
Access our music collection for a variety of music, including plenty of CDs featuring the soothing sounds of the violin. Alachua County residents with library cards also have access to our online music collection via hoopla.
You can also find books and DVDs for learning to play some instruments.
