YOU’D BEST READ THIS.
“Your purpose is just like mine. It’s big, and it’s important, and there’s no one else anywhere on the planet who can fulfill it. So quit messing around – and go get ‘em.”
--- CHIP GAINES
Fans and newcomers alike will want to read Capital Gaines: Smart Things I Learned Doing Stupid Stuff, to learn more about Chip and Joanna Gaines, the stars of HGTV’s Fixer Upper, co-founders and co-owners of Magnolia Homes, Magnolia Market, and Magnolia Realty in Waco, Texas.
This is a “feel good” story, an autobiography of personal struggles, filled with down-to-earth humor about overcoming mistakes and obstacles that anyone can relate to.
The inside story from Chip’s perspective is all about working toward success, rejecting fear and embracing those “small acts of courage that, when added up can actually ignite change.”
In the chapter, “Fear-Less,” for example, there’s an interesting quote about courage:
“Each time you muster up what it takes and go for it, the next go-round becomes that much easier. Real and important changes begin with small, courageous acts. It’s never too late in your story to take a step away from fear. And the good news is that both optimism and courage are contagious. No hand washing necessary. Simply catch and spread.”
As our nation hunkers down at home to help stop the spread of the novel COVID -19 virus, practicing all government guidelines, such as washing our hands frequently in hot soapy, water for at least 20 seconds, I believe readers of this book will come away with more courage and optimism – something we all need during this pandemic as we stay home but look forward to hear of plans to re-open our country in the near future.
Readers will appreciate Chip’s anecdotes, hi-jinks, humor, and down-to-earth advice, which includes a quote from the late President Franklin D. Roosevelt as well as scriptural quotations from the Holy Bible, New International Version.
At 184-pages, this inspirational story is a quick read published by W Publishing, an imprint of Thomas Nelson. It’s available with your library card as a downloadable eBook and a downloadable audio book. Check it out!
