At the Thursday, Nov. 8, Alachua County Library District (ACLD) Governing Board Meeting, board members, library staff, supportive community members and special guests thanked Governing Board Member Lee Pinkoson for his 15 years of service on the Library District's Governing Board. Pinkoson served on ACLD's Governing Board from 2002 to 2009 and from 2010 to 2018. He was the Chair in 2004, 2012, 2013 and 2016.
Former Library Director Ann Williams (1967-2004), who also worked with Governor Pinkoson, thanked him for his support of libraries and his involvement in making sure our libraries have what they need to operate and thrive.
Library Director Shaney T. Livingston (2011 to present) presented Governor Pinkoson with a plaque and shared a short presentation showing photos of some of the many events and activities that Governor Pinkoson has been a part of at libraries across the county. Livingston also thanked him for his dedication and commitment to making local libraries some of the best in the state and country.
Governor Pinkoson thanked the Governing Board, Library Director and staff for all their work and said that this Library District is a model of how government works well to serve its community.
