Sign Language with Ms. Ann: What's the Weather?

The weather where I live has been topsy turvy lately! Somedays it's raining and somedays it's sunny. The temperature is cool when I walk my dog in the early morning and at night. Sometimes it's hot in the middle of the day. What's the weather like where you are?

In these two rhymes I share some signs for different types of weather, like umbrella (left). You can use this free online Baby Sign Language dictionary to look up other signs and print cute flashcards to help you remember.

Another fun home activity is to make a weather chart. We tried this one at our house. Here are the directions. If you don't have all the materials, you can improvise with what you have on hand.

Also check out our eSource World Book. You'll need your library card number. Click on the Science Power icon to gain access to the "Weather & Space" lesson.

Whether rain or shine, I'm happy to be sharing my love of sign language with you!
